Hello! I am a registered holistic nutritionist (RHN) and studied at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
Over the last ten years, several of my family members and friends have been afflicted with immune disorders and cancer. As many of you know, it is difficult to see loved ones suffer with painful or lifestyle altering conditions. I started reading about nutrition and began to see the strong connection between the food we eat and the resiliency of our bodies. My passion and curiosity about this connection is what prompted me to go back to school so I could help others support their health goals and navigate through the multitude of information sources, diet trends, supplements and theories.
I believe that the body has an amazing ability to heal itself and stay healthy if it takes in the good stuff and leaves out (or gets rid of) the bad stuff. When working with clients, I focus on four key areas to help achieve optimal health:
- Nutritious, whole foods
- A healthy environment
- Physical movement, and
- A peaceful mind.
Prior to becoming a holistic nutritionist, I worked for 12 years in the technology sector as a communications professional. As a working mom of two very active boys, I understand how busy lifestyles can pose challenges on making healthy food choices and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Because of this, I try to focus on developing practical, achievable programs for clients that empower them to make their own choices. Let’s face it, if a program is difficult to follow, it will have a greater chance of failure.
Whether you want to lose weight, have an existing condition or simply want to learn how to take charge of your health so you can live a life full of vitality (no matter the age!), eating and lifestyle habits play an important role.
